Why are we doing this....

The forests are the lungs of are earth and it is disappearing fast and everywhere.
If we can stop some of the deforestation and replant the trees that we stole from the forest, we can make a difference. Maybe just a little bit, but all little together.....

The project 'Save the Rainforest' was started by Runs 'N Roses - eco-tourism, to stop deforestation in Phato area, Thailand. The deforestation is done - like everywhere in the world - by enlarging farm land meter by meter. At the border of the forest and the farmland trees die and are cut down. A slow but devastating process and a horrible one to witness..

Since December 2005 Runs 'N Roses and the Thai Child Development Foundation settled in this particular area and we have seen the forest moving up the hill.
Slowly but sure.
We have seen the fires in the night.
We heard the sound of big trees falling down.
We decided to move and take action.

Now, we do not want to lecture the people on what is right and what is wrong here. Farmers all over the world have the same problem: they have to survive.
But we can work on awareness, and we can replant some forest.
