Thai Child
Development Foundation
The Thai Child Development Foundation
supports the development of children in the area of Phato, southern
Thailand. The foundation was set up in 2004 to support the development
of the children directly, by means of nutrition, offering a home
and /or financial support for education. In addition, there is a
fund for future education of the children in the home and those
under the wing of the foundation and there is a fund for emergency
cases, that can support families financially.
The educational projects of the foundation are done with Thai and
international volunteers. So far they have been working on the following
projects:
-
The World I Live In, an English conversation program focussed
on awareness and environment
-
The Creative Learning Method. Volunteers use their own skills
in educational programs, like painting, music, sport, drama
etc.
-
Construction. Using natural material to build and construct,
the volunteers created a house of clay, clay-bricks, a a clay
oven
-
Horse back riding. Children from the are learn to love horses,
taking care of them and learn about the nature.
-
Ecological garden. Volunteers started an ecological garden
to grow vegetables for our own use. Eventually we hope to be
self sufficient on that.
